“Each year my PRISM membership pays for itself many times over – there is tremendous value in the educational opportunities, interaction with vendors, and idea sharing with other industry participants.”
INDUSTRY LEADER RENEWS CERTIFICATION
Lubbock, TX – December 1, 2009 – John Miller, President/CEO of WesTex Document Inc. announced the successful completion of their eighth annual certification audit by the National Association for Information Destruction (NAID) and award of their “AAA” Certification for operations of the company from its headquarters in Lubbock, TX.
“When I formed WesTex Document in 1997, I never perceived a long-range goal of being a leader of the industry,” said Mr. Miller. “As a business owner, I’ve always believed that you should be the best at what you do, help others to do the same, and provide the best service possible to your customers and that is what I have always done.” WesTex Document Inc was the first NAID member company in Texas and the fourth in the United States to earn certification almost 10 years ago. They offer destruction, storage, digital imaging, microfilm conversion, secure vault services and commercial data center operations to customers throughout the High Ground Region from their location at the Reese Technology Center.
WesTex Document, Inc. is expanding its operations in the Amarillo market with construction underway of a new 20,000 square foot facility on four acres of land on I-40 near the airport that will house storage, destruction and data center operations for the panhandle region next spring.
The company was nationally recognized last year when it was the first commercial records storage company to complete an intensive external audit for storage of nuclear records under NQA-1 (Nuclear Quality Assurance) standards. Mr. Miller is also a member of the Association of Records Managers and Administrators (ARMA International), the Professional Records & Information Services Management (PRISM International) and is well known in PRISM and NAID from his articles that have been published. He is also a Life Member and Diplomat of the American Board for Certification in Homeland Security, with professional credentials as a CHS-V and Sensitive Security Information Certified credentials.
The NAID “AAA” Certification program has grown from the four members when WesTex Document first achieved the industry standard to over 600 internationally today. The program is offered on a voluntary basis to all NAID member companies providing information destruction services. Through the program, NAID members may seek certification audits for Mobile and/or Plant-based operations in paper or printed media, micro media and/or computer hard drive destruction. All audits are performed by security professionals who have earned the Certified Protection Professional (CPP) accreditation issued by the American Society for Industrial Security.
