ATHENS CONFERENCE TO FEATURE INFORMATION MANAGEMENT AND CONFIDENTIAL DESTRUCTION THEMES
Improvements in commercial records and information management and confidential destruction will be key themes at the 2010 European Conference of international associations PRISM International and NAID Europe. The conference will be held at the Westin Astir Palace Hotel in Athens on 27-29 September. The conference is open to any interested business representative, but is especially designed for companies engaged in commercial archival storage, secure destruction services, data protection services, imaging and conversion services and those businesses seeking to expand operations into these service areas.
The 2010 Conference will feature an opening keynote address from Elton Potts, CEO of Recall Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of Brambles Limited, (ASX: BXB). Mr. Potts is making is first appearance as keynote speaker of a PRISM International/NAID Europe joint conference and will discuss the critical ways in which secure information management can help today’s enterprises mitigate some of the risks associated with conducting business in a rapidly changing business climate. This is particularly true of managing complex factors such as safety, security, culture and an ever more stringent regulatory environment.
Also featured at the 2010 conference will be Dr. William Saffady, Long Island University, who is one of the most prolific authors related to records and information management, archiving, imaging and conversion services. Dr. Saffady will provide a forecast of what types of technology are likely to impact records and information management in the next decades. In a related program Dr. Saffady will also review records and information program compliance in various European Union member states. His presentation will touch on the use of electronic records to satisfy retention requirements, acceptable use of digital images as a substitute for paper records and limitations on cross-border transfers of records materials.
Full registration for the conference includes some meals and receptions and access to all educational sessions. A table-top exhibition area featuring vendors from the commercial information management industry will also be available.
